| This game is a touch long -- I'd say about 1/2 hour per player, so with the six playing in our first game, it took well over 3 hours (the extra time being teaching and getting a feel for the game). It does remind me of DS in many ways, but I also think it's a game that you can't be married to one strategy. There were some really powerful cards that were played, but I think a lot of us stayed away from the counters to those cards (ie, flipping them) just out of being too nice (or not grasping the power of some cards). Much like DS, I liked the game itself, but it's not something I'll be jonesing to play. | |
| It was funny reading Mike's comment on Dominant Species as this game reminded me of that and I scored it the same. Again, I didn't exactly score on my own merits completely, but what I thought the group would score, otherwise this number would be lower. To be blunt - this was way too long, and I invested hours of time playing a particular strategy that was wiped away in a single turn. I did not like that there were cards that were game changers - just way too powerful and made the hours of play before season 7 seem pointless. I will probably NOT ever play this game again, or at least never request it for a game night. Too bad too, since I really enjoyed Love Letter a lot and was looking forward to seeing the complete set in action. | |
| I thought this was a very strong game with alot of area control strategy similar in some ways to Dominant Species. I would like to play it again soon to capitalize on the mistakes made in the first playing. It would be great too to try the other two in the series we haven't played yet. |
